Chesapeake Green Fuels' unique approach to biodiesel involves the constructioin and implementation of a pilot program to ensure technical and product excellence. CGF operates both commercial and research facilities simultaneously, which allows CGF to test and implement new technologies and produce fuel from a wider variety of feedstocks. CGF uses its agricultural processing background to build and operate its own soy crush facility to produce soy oil and supplements the facility with alternative and more cost effective feedstocks.

EA Engineering, Science, and Technologoy focuses on biogas projects (i.e., conceptualization, design, building), primarily at meat-processing facilities. For example, the firm is currently constructing a lagoon enclosure in Texas that will result in the collection of 60,000 cubic feet of biogas, which will be ducted to boilers on-site. The AgSTAR Program is a voluntary effort jointly sponsored by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), the U.S. Department of Agriculture, and the U.S. Department of Energy. The Maryland Farm Energy Audit Program: Phase II is a continuation of the successful Maryland Farm Energy Audit Program: Phase I, completed in 2006. This program offers agricultural producers in Maryland's Allegany, Carroll, Frederick, Garrett and Washington farm energy audits. Producers must have a minimum electricity usage of 10,000 kWh annually. This is a collaborative cost share program funded by USDA's Natural Resources Conservation Service in Maryland, the Maryland Energy Administration, and the Maryland Department of Agriculture. This program closes in December, 2008. EnSave supports the American agricultural sector with innovative energy efficiency and resource conservation solutions. EnSave's clients include state and federal energy and environmental agencies, investor-owned utilities, and rural electric cooperatives.
